Irene was a beautiful kind soul who gave unconditionally. She was born on February 21, 1931, in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, to Jack and Violet Corney. She moved to Calgary with her late husband, Lyle Britton, in 1976, where they ran a family-based hobby shop. Irene enjoyed working at the shop with her daughters and meeting new people as she was a social butterfly. Irene's family was the most important thing to her, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She is survived by her children; Terry (Debra), Darrell, Holly (Delmar), Cheryl (Dean) Biblow and her grandchildren; Andrew, Jack, Sarah, Stephen, Caitlin, Rebecca, Justin and Cassandra. She is also survived by her brothers; Bud (Margret) Corney, and Lennard (MaryAnne) Corney and her sister; Lynn (Fred) Rescanski.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Britton; her mother, Violet Corney; her father, Jack Corney; and her brother, Ed Corney.
Irene will always be remembered for her love for her family. Her passing is a great loss, and she will be greatly missed.
