Jacqueline will be lovingly reunited with her parents Thomas and Ann Dent, her son-in-law, Luciano Lupi, her father and mother-in-law Vittorio and Ermelinda Flaviano and all of our beloved family and friends who have gone before her.
Jacqueline was the devoted wife of 60 years to her beloved husband, Gigino. Their marriage was a true partnership, rooted in love, sacrifice, and tradition. She poured her heart into her home, standing beside Gigino as he worked to provide for their family, while she dedicated herself to raising their children. Even in her final days, his care and well-being remained her greatest concern - a testament to the depth of her love.
She was the proud and loving mother of four children: Victor (Patricia), Maria, Mario (Franca), and Melinda. Jacqueline never sought recognition for herself; her life’s work was her family. By choosing to stay home to raise her children, she created a foundation of warmth, stability, and unconditional love that shaped our family.
As a grandmother, Jacqueline’s presence was constant and unwavering. She never missed a football game or dance recital, always cheering, supporting, and celebrating her grandchildren’s lives. Nana will be deeply missed by Antonio (Carmelina), Robert (Nikki & Gia), Franco, Gino, Alessandro, Loriana, Lisa, Lucas, Nicholas, and her precious great-granddaughter, Azzura Marie.
She will be forever cherished by her brother and sister-in-law, Geoffrey and Judy Dent, their children Sheldon, Alan, Leslee, and their families. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law and best friend, Frances Porcu, her sister-in-law Rosa Flaviano, and her many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends across Calgary, England, Italy, and Canada.
While living with her in-laws, Jacqueline learned their Italian dialect so fluently that many believed she was Italian. She was always there to help her friends and family, offering translation or support whenever they needed it. She was known for sharing her homemade bread and cooking. She was always ready for a warm conversation and offered a caring listening ear. She loved sharing stories of her travels and road trips recalling every detail with great pleasure.
Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to her family physician, Dr. Ted Vant, her oncologist, Dr. Richard Lee Ying, and her many caregivers for the compassionate care and support they provided her.
Jacqueline leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, patience and unwavering positivity. She will be forever loved and cherished.
