Janet Marie Hauck

Jan passed away after a brief stay at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary on July 22, 2011. She was born on May 27, 1956 and grew up in the small community of Wainwright, Alberta. Jan is mourned by her husband, David Tivey, mother, Sarah Richards, brother Philip (Kathy), sister Joan, nieces Arden, Shaleen and Mesha, nephew Ian, many cousins, aunts, uncles, and loving friends. She was predeceased by her father, Dr. Don Hauck in 2000.

Jan’s ashes will be buried in Wainwright on August 27th at 1:00 p.m., alongside her Dad, in honour of their close relationship. Some of her ashes will be interred in Egypt in recognition of Jan’s deep fondness for that country. She will be remembered for her generous and loving heart and for her extraordinary devotion to the protection and personal care of any animal, particularly felines. Jan received the Alberta SPCA Zeke Young Memorial award in 1988 for outstanding contribution to animal welfare. If desired, memorial tributes may be made to ARF, Animal Rescue Foundation, located in Calgary and Heaven Can Wait located in High River Alberta.

The family wish to express sincere thanks to the staff of the ICU at Rockyview Hospital. Their personal and compassionate care is deeply appreciated. Jan, may you rest in peace.
