It is with a deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved mom, Jeanette Clare Patrick. She passed peacefully on May 2, 2025, at the Agape Hospice. She was surrounded by all of her children and an abundance of love. Her strength, warmth, unwavering love and kindness will be forever remembered and treasured.
Jeanette was born on May 29, 1934, in Arnprior, Ontario to Telesphore & Lucia Schnob. She grew up in a loving family with her brothers Frank, Roland, Rene & her sister Mary Helene. After finishing high school, she went on to nursing school at the Hotel Dieu, in Kingston, Ontario. After graduating in 1955, she moved back home to work in Arnprior for about a year, then on to work and enjoy life in New York for a while followed by her move to St. Catharine’s, Ontario to practice nursing. Around 1960 she moved west to Calgary and never left. This is when she met our dad, Michael. They dated and then married June 2, 1962. They welcomed 4 children in the following years Arlene, Audrey, Kelly and Janice. When we were growing up, mom worked as an RN at the General Hospital, then moving to the Peter Lougheed in 1988. She worked mainly in post-surgical units, most notably in the gynecology unit, finishing her career in the Day Surgery unit. She loved her job, and she was loved and respected by the doctors and her nursing colleagues. She retired in the early 2000s initially staying on to do casual shifts but having to give that up to take care of dad who had a long-time illness. She focused on his full-time care until he entered the hospital and passed away.
Jeanette is survived by and is lovingly remembered by her children; Arlene (Russ), Audrey (Gordon), Kelly and Janice (Jimmy) and her grandchildren; Kelsey (Eric), Allison, Megan & Katherine and her sister Mary Helene. Jeanette was predeceased by her husband Michael, her brothers and their spouses, and her parents.
A very special thank you to the staff at The Agape Hospice in Calgary as well as to the staff of unit 52 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital and the staff of units 61 and 59 at the Rockyview Hospital for their kindness and caring for mom while she was with them.
