John Alan Armstrong

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Armstrong on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the South Health Campus, surrounded by his wife of 33 years, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

John is lovingly remembered by his wife, Selma Halladay, his children, Diana (Daniel) Jones, Barb Ross (Bob Elliston), Shelley Nicklom, John (Tracy) Armstrong, his grandchildren, Jennifer, Sarah, Dayna, Joshua, Caitlin, Brittney, Tauni, Joey, Shayla, Brendan, Oakley, Emma and great-grandchildren, Caleb, Cole, Blaine, Jaina, Cade, Alli, Dani, and Easton. He is survived by his sister, Betty McRorie of Avonlea, Sask and life long partner and friend Alice Nicholl.

John worked as a Furrier and was known for his fashion sense (he sure knew how to pop a collar) and charismatic nature. Until his lungs began to fail him, John enjoyed going for walks with his family, playing golf, pool and ping pong.

A Funeral Service will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South, (at Lake Fraser Gate) Calgary on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Nicholos Coates officiating.
