John Douglas Wright

John Douglas Wright of S.E. Calgary, Alta passed away peacefully at his home on March 12, 2011 at the age of 76 years. Born and raised in Odell, NB he was the son of the late Douglas Wright and Kathleen (Cooper) better known as Mary Doug. John is survived by his long time friend Elisabeth Marlene Julian; one son; Randolph (Randy) Wright of Calgary, Alta; three daughters; Natalie (Robert) Hazlett, Fredericton, NB; Michele (Michael) McLaughlin, Grand Falls, NB; and Tina Savoy (Pierre Gascon) Dartmouth, NS; six grandchildren; Holly Hazlett (Andrew) Currie, Churchill Falls, Nfld; Brandy Wright, Kelowna, BC; Tyler (Kim Michaud) McLaughlin, Sussex, NB; Ryan Wright, Calgary, Alta; Derek McLaughlin, Halifax, NS; Nikki McLaughlin, Toronto, Ont; Sisters; Elsie (Marion) Henderson, California; Margaret Stevenson, Arthurette, NB; Katherine (Kate) (Robert) Finnemore, Odell, NB; Gloria (Gerry) Moran, Drayton Valley, Alta; one brother Richard (Agnus) Port Alice, BC and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, daughter Anita and brother Gerald.

John was a hard worker and a very likeable person, had many friends on the Tobique as well as in Calgary. He was well known for his tall tales and many stories,which kept everyone smiling. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and most of all he loved the great outdoors. During his life on the Tobique, John and his brother Gerald worked together farming and then as woodsmen. He lived the past 30 years in Calgary and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Burial service will be held at the Arthurette, NB Baptist Cemetary at a later date.
