Julio Fuertes

Julio passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary, AB in the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 15, 2014. His passing was unexpected and the result of an acute abdominal illness at the age of 87 years.

He was born and raised in Cheste, Valencia, Spain, one of four children to his late parents, Vicente and Maria Fuertes. Julio was married to his loving wife, Amparo Fuertes, for over fifty-six years, whom he met and married in their childhood hometown of Cheste. He is survived by his loving children, Sonia (Hank), Esther and Cesar (Gina); his grandchildren, Amanda, Carlos, Laurel, Lucas and Linnea and Amanda's children, Ryker and Oliver. He was predeceased by his wife, Amparo, in 2010 and his brothers, Vicente, Paco and Tony.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a visitation held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca .
