He was born on January 24, 1930 in Cetekovac, Croatia. Karlo immigrated to Canada in 1958 with his young family, and settled in Calgary, Alberta. He became a carpenter by trade and using his skills helped to build the Croatian Canadian Cultural Centre as well as the Mountain View Sports & Handicapped Society. He was a staunch supporter of Croatian culturalism and heritage.
He is survived by his loving wife, Anna, who was at his bedside always and at the time of his passing; his sons Zlatko and Vlado; his grandsons Karl and Nicholas, and his great granddaughter Kylie. Karlo is predeceased by his parents, sister and grandson Marc.
A private funeral service and interment will be held.
