Aged 65
Kevin Paul Phillips passed away on July 6th, 2025, at the age of 65. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, to Harold and Lois Phillips, Kevin was the youngest of five children.
A proud graduate of NAIT and the University of Alberta, Kevin dedicated most of his professional life to the oil and gas industry, where he worked as a respected engineer.
Kevin lived with Parkinson’s Disease for 20 years and faced a brief but courageous three-month battle with cancer. Despite these challenges, he remained active, engaged, and committed to serving others.
He was deeply involved in several organizations over the years, including Cystic Fibrosis Canada, Parkinson Wellness Recovery (PWR), Dance Parkinson’s, Scouts and Beavers, Toastmasters, and his local church community. Above all, Kevin was committed to his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
He was a devoted family man—an adoring husband, loving father, proud Opa, cherished brother, and loyal friend. His greatest joy was his family, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and character.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Annette; his children Trevor (Éliza), Benjamin (Victoria), Jayden (Cristianna), and Valerie (Quinn); and his four (soon to be five) adored grandchildren. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Special thanks to Dr. Bruno, Nurse Ellen and the Advanced Care Team for Parkinson’s, as well as the staff of the Southwood Hospice for their incredible care of Kevin.
In honour of Kevin, memorial tributes can be made to ACT (hbi.ucalgary.ca/act-parkinsons/about/donate)
A celebration of Kevin’s life will take place on Wednesday, July 16th at 11am at Southview Alliance Church (20200 Walden Blvd SE, Calgary, Ab.T2X 0N4)
