

LaDonne Gail Daniels passed away peacefully at the Didsbury Hospital on November 22, 2016 at the age of 75 years. LaDonne was born in Naicam, SK on October 22, 1941. Though growing up in Calgary, she spent her summers with her grandparents in Naicam. LaDonne graduated from Viscount Bennett High School and went on to Henderson Business College for Secretarial Arts and Accounting. Her first job was with Franklin Serum Company; it was around this time that she met the love of her life Brian and they were married June 30, 1960. After LaDonne and Brian were married, LaDonne moved to Lethbridge where she worked for Midwest Paper. Three years later, Brian’s transfer took them back to Calgary where LaDonne made the decision to stay at home with her children. When she did get back into the work force she found herself at Norwesco Industries with her brother Lorne; where she stayed for the next 25 years until her retirement in 1999. LaDonne “Grandma GG”, “Donnie” and or “Miss Daisy” is survived by her husband, Brian Daniels, Son, Cam (Holly) Daniels, Daughter, Lyn (Ray) Dixon, Grandchildren; Mathew (Jessica with Baby on the way) Dixon, Loren (Grayson) Davis and Jade Krause as well as her Great Granddaughter Tory LaDonne Davis. She is predeceased by her parents, Ted and Evelyn Porterfield and her only sibling Lorne Porterfield. A Celebration of LaDonne’s Life will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200 – 325 Manning Road N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 9Z9 or to the Calgary Humane Society, 4455 – 110 Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB T2C 2T7.
