She is predeceased by her parents; Dave and Anne Janzen, her brother; Ernie Janzen, and her sisters in laws; Anne and Peg.
Lee was the heart of her family, a loyal friend, and always the first to show up with a helping hand and a casserole in times of need.
In her early years, she completed her Bachelor of Education at the University of Saskatchewan and she found her calling as a teacher. After raising her children, she returned to the school system as an ESL teacher and librarian at St. William and St. Philip Elementary Schools. Her passion for education, literacy and the Dewey Decimal System never waned.
In retirement, Lee continued her legacy of service as a dedicated volunteer at Rockyview General Hospital for 20 years. She was also a familiar face at her ladies golf group, a faithful participant at yoga class and the gym, and she rarely missed a Sunday service at First Alliance Church.
Her home was always open. She loved hosting family dinners, backyard BBQs, and firepit gatherings, where laughter, warmth and a glass of red wine were always in abundance. Her garden and yard were her sanctuary, a place where her spirit truly blossomed. She loved the holidays and creating strong traditions. Her grandkids will remember Easter egg hunts, pumpkin carving afternoons and doing Christmas baking together.
Known for her warm smile and kind heart, Lee leaves behind a legacy of compassion, hospitality, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
