Named by her eldest brother Fred, baby Lieselottie was born and baptized in Heltau, Romania. She lived her youngest years in Mariental, Bessarabia (Moldova). Circumstances of WWII caused Lottie and her family to live briefly in Austria (early 1942), northern Poland (1942 – February 1945) and by war’s end northern Germany. She and her united family relocated and lived in southwest Germany in Kirchheim unter Teck until June 1952 where they immigrated to Canada, to Magrath, Alberta then onto Calgary. One Sunday on the way to worship she met Donald and eventually married in August 1953. Lottie gave birth to Brian, Darrell, Debbie and Troy.
As a mother, Lottie raised and cared for her children unselfishly especially when great sickness would befall her children. As a wife and homemaker Lottie also worked outside the home doing house cleaning, cleaning wild gamebirds, office cleaning for Home Oil Company and with Food Services at the University of Calgary.
From the mid 50’s to 1968 the family enjoyed annual camping in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Once the children were on their own path, Lottie and Don made trips to Hawaii, travelled extensively through Western North America, Texas, Morocco and cruises in the Caribbean.
Lottie and Don built their own home in Calgary in 1959 and then rebuilt again in Hidden Valley Green in 1997. Here Lottie developed a great friendship with Brigit and Stewart McKenzie. They befriended Lottie until the last days of her life.
Lieselottie was predeceased by her parents Edward and Elizabeth, sister Rosie, brother Edward, an unnamed child due to a miscarriage, son Darrell and husband Don. Lottie is survived by her son Brian (Nancy), Debbie (Murray Redding), Troy (Charlene); sisters-in-law Lilo and Lily; grandchildren Jonathan (fiancé Shalene), Solveig (Jean-Marc), Thomas, Luke (Samantha), Epiphany, Scott (Natalie), Andrew, Jocelyn, Candace, Amy (Pete), Anna, Sean (Brenda); and great-grandchildren Dominic, Issac, Lisa, Joshua, Easton and Judah.
