

Lillian Maybelle Pruitt (Steen) passed away on May 6, 2011 at the age of 88 years. Her last days were spent at the Intercare Chinook Hospice in Calgary being comforted by loved ones. Lillian was born in the Steen family farmhouse near Enchant Alberta, March 31, 1923. After living and working in Lethbridge as a young adult, Lillian married Henry Pruitt of Lebanon, Oregon in 1949 and moved to the U.S. Shortly after the birth of their son Henry passed away. In 1958, Lillian and her young son moved to Canada, living in Lethbridge and then Calgary.
Lillian loved to travel throughout her life; twice visiting the village in Norway where her ancestors lived. She was a member of the Canadian Club and volunteered her time at the Glenbow Museum.
Lillian is survived by her son Blair (Amanda), her grandson, Matthew (Amanda), nieces Chantaal (Bo), Dianne (Eldon) and Debbie (Joe), and nephew Darrell. Pre-deceasing her were her husband, Henry Pruitt, her brothers, Robert and Delmer Steen, and her sister Arlys Marshall (Steen).
A graveside service will be conducted by Pastor Jeffery Frostad at the Enchant Cemetery at 1:00 p.m., May 12th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that support is sent to Parkinson Society Canada. Arrangements under the direction of Foster's Garden Chapel, Calgary, AB.
