Born and raised in Saskatoon, Linda took her B.A. at the University of Saskatchewan. She then moved to Calgary, where she taught at S.A.I.T. before opening her travel agency, Vacation World Travel. This led to years of travelling the world. For over 40 years, Linda travelled to Mexico and Scottsdale, hosting many visitors.
Linda was a Life Master bridge player and her impact on the Regional Bridge Tournaments was profound. Her home was always open to so many, serving as a welcoming haven where friendships flourished.
She was also an avid golf player and was one of the first members of the Glencoe Golf and County Club.
She is remembered for her unending hospitality, adventure and camaraderie, as well as her wicked sense of humour.
Linda was predeceased by her brother Vernon Douglas Thierman, and her partner Mike Chomyn. She is survived by her sister-in-law Zelma Thierman; her niece Debra; and her nephews Donald, Darrell, Kelly, and Chris Thierman.
Her last 45 years were as active as her first 40. She was making plans right up to the end and still planning for her fabulous Annual Stampede Breakfast party, which she hosted for over 50 years.
Linda was a wonderful friend, and will be remembered, with smiles, by one and all.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honour on Monday, May 4, 2026 from 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. at the Glencoe Golf and Country Club, 31002 Elbow River Drive, Calgary, Alberta T3Z 2T8.
