It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Malcolm Royce Cox, a loving Husband, Dad, Grandad and Brother, on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the age of 72 years. Mal is survived by his wife of 42 years, Shirley; sons, Ryan (Melissa) and Clint (Amanda); grandson Lucas; brothers, Ian (Gail), Colin (Sharon), Grahame (Pat) and Brian Cox; sister-in-law Sharon Ewasko (Al); as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Ian and Joyce Cox. Mal was born in Sussex, England on May 2, 1944, and immigrated to Canada in 1954. They settled in Calgary, where Mal was raised. He graduated from Western Canada High School and went on to work at City of Calgary, Brisbane Sentis and Team Engineering. Mal attended the University of Missoula where he studied Biology and also Mount Royal College receiving his CET degree. He was always the one who had a kind word, a never-ending smile and a sense of humor that touched so many family and friends. Mal’s passions included: antiques, fishing and enjoying nature whenever possible. A special place existed in Mal’s heart for his friends and family as well as the land he shared with Lance. He will be missed but more importantly he will be remembered. At this time Mal’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to all that touched his life. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly in Mal's honour to a charity that is close to your heart. A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
