Peggy was born on December 22, 1920, in Dauphin, Manitoba, where she lived most of her life. Although health concerns motivated a move to Calgary in August 2015, where family could coordinate care for Peggy, she remained a citizen of Dauphin at heart and spoke often of her hometown.
Peggy worked for the Federal government in its Dauphin offices for virtually her entire career. In her leisure time, Peggy enjoyed travelling with her sister, Mary, and their many friends. Summers were often spent at Clear Lake relaxing on the beach, playing cards, or going for ice cream. In years past, Peggy proved herself a talented knitter who made beautiful sweaters, blankets, and gifts for friends and family. In later years, Peggy enjoyed having a glass of wine, reading a good mystery novel, and watching the world go by from the front porch. Peggy will be remembered most for her sense of humour; she always cracked an unexpected joke when you weren't even sure she was listening.
Peggy was predeceased by her sister Mary, her older brother Jim, and her younger brother Donald.
Peggy is survived by her niece and nephews: Douglas (Sandy), Susan (Richard), and Ian, as well as many grandnieces, grandnephews, and their families.
Peggy will also be dearly missed by her good friend Iona. At her request, there will be no public funeral service.
