Margit Davies passed away peacefully at Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB on Monday, May 15, 2017 at the age of 82 years. Margit was born in Essen, Germany and raised in Austria. She spent time in Vienna, where she enjoyed the opera and other musical events. Margit was an avid swimmer, who loved to waltz and play bridge. For the past 20 years, her and her husband enjoyed being snowbirds in Arizona. Margit is lovingly remembered by her husband Jim, son Derek (Clare), grandsons Evan and Alex and granddaughter Kate. She was predeceased by her daughter Marilynne Kim Davies in 1990. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
