Marilyn went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, May 29, 2019. She was surrounded by her family during this time and passed away peacefully at the age of 80.
She is survived by her children; Cheryl (Bob), Doug (Marilyn), Terri, by her eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, her brother Bryan Fleming (Betty Lou), and her sisters Joanne Traudt (Walter) and Jean Kehler. She was predeceased by her husband Jim.
She worked for Hillhurst United Church for many years and Jo-Tech Engineering before her retirement. Mom was a knitter, sewer and most recently a painter. Her love though were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed and encouraged their talent and to be the best they could be. She spent many hours in conversation with her Lord and Savior, praying for his hand to touch them. She enjoyed her time at our family cabin at Gull Lake with everyone, enjoying the song birds, squirrels and nature around her. Mom was very generous with her time and finances. She donated to many charities and supporting Princess Joy, her sponsor child.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Centre Street Church (3900 – 2nd St NE Calgary) on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 1:30 pm with Pastor Warren Wiebe officiating.
