It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn Ruth Wurzer, who left us peacefully on April 5, 2025, at the age of 85. She passed away at the Venvi Evergreen where she found friendship and compassion from the residents and staff.

Marilyn was born at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary to parents John and Lydia and raised with sister Joan and brothers Jim and Fred in Black Diamond and Devon, AB.

Marilyn graduated from high school in Devon in 1955 and went on to earn her Education degree from the University of Alberta. She dedicated 36 years to the teaching profession, working in Edmonton, Devon, and Calgary, where she inspired generations of students with her passion and commitment to education.
