Marlene was born on May 20, 1940 in Regina, SK, the second of four children to Lena and William Lang. She grew up in Regina, moving to Winnipeg, and then on to Calgary where she met and married Edward Luca in 1965. Marlene was a fabulous cook and many lively discussions were held around the dinner table over the years. Marlene is survived by Ed, her husband of 49 years; her two beloved children and five grandsons, Dean (Christine) Luca and sons, Steven and Matthew; and Corey (Stephanie) Luca and sons, Gareth, Tristan, and Bryce. She is also survived by her brothers, Ernie Lang of Red Deer, AB and Glenn Lang (Harriet) of Okotoks, AB as well as by her sister, Julie Chernoff (Tim Pilkey) of Yorkton, Sk. Marlene will also be missed and remembered by her dear friend, Denise Tkachuk of Calgary, who has supported her throughout the last ten years. We wish to thank the staff at Newport Harbor Care Centre for the professional and kind consideration they provided to Marlene and our family during her illness.
