Martha Muth Ford

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Martha Ford on Saturday, September 14, 2013.

Martha is survived by her daughter, Deborah and son, Bill (Ellen) and grandson, Alex; brothers, Walter and Dennis and sisters, Ruth, Doris, Hilda and Myrna. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Bill, on March 13, 2003. Martha was born and raised just outside Leduc, AB. Upon her marriage to Bill, who was from the US, she lived in Kansas City, MO and Carthage, MO for a few years. They returned to Canada, settling in Edmonton, AB. Martha and Bill moved to Calgary in 2001 to coincide with the transfer of their daughter, Deborah, from Toronto to Calgary. Upon Bill’s passing, Martha lived with her daughter until mid-2009. At that time, she moved to Newport Harbour Care Centre.

A private Visitation and Memorial Service will be held officiated by Sophie Abel, Chaplain at Newport Care Centre. Martha will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Edmonton, AB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to Alzheimer Society of Calgary, 201, 222 - 58 Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB T2H 2S3.
