It is with profound sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Megan Alison MacMaster at the Foothills Hospital on Wednesday, February 24, 2016. Megan is lovingly remembered by her beloved partner Brett Charles; two cherished daughters Whitney and Isla MacMaster-Leong; mother Maggie Zechowski; stepfather Kelvin Zechowski; as well as her loving sister Courtney MacMaster. She will also be dearly missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Megan was predeceased by her father William Harold MacMaster. She was born in Halifax, NS, and shortly after moved to Edmonton, AB. In 1995 the family moved to Birnie, MB; there, Megan graduated from NACI in 2003. After graduation she moved back to Alberta, and resided in Calgary until her passing. Over the twelve years that followed her move she brought light, laughter and joy to everyone she met. Her greatest accomplishments were her beautiful daughters; motherhood is where she found her true purpose in life. Megan had an incredible passion for music and literature. Megan’s light will shine on through all the people who had the pleasure of knowing her. A Celebration of her life will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Megan’s cremated remains will be laid to rest at a later date in Hopewell, NS. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the charity of one’s choice. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
