Michael was born on June 18, 1969, at Obogu in the Ashanti Region, Ghana to Rose Boadiwaa Kwarteng and Ernest Kwame Amoako Agyeman.
His early years were spent in Tema, Ghana with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Agyeman, and his siblings, Stella, Fred, and Ralph. His upbringing was rooted in love, discipline, and a strong emphasis on respect for others, shaped by his family's Christian values.
He immigrated to Canada in 1988 where he quickly assimilated into the Canadian culture while holding on to his deep Ghanian roots. He was a likeable and positive fixture in the Ghanaian community in Hamilton for many years until moving to Edmonton then Calgary for work.
Michael is lovingly remembered by his children, Brian, Rex, Brennan, Isaiah, Ross, and Sienna Agyeman as well as his bonus son Roland.
He is also survived by his siblings, Sammy, Stella, Fred, Linda, Ralph, Eric and Jeff. He will be sadly missed by his uncle Rex (Owoahene) and many dear friends in Hamilton as well as several uncles, aunts and cousins.
A special thank you is extended to Dr. Charles Odame-Ankrah who has been the family stand-in for Michael since April 2021 till his passing. May God bless him for all the love and support he’s given to Michael in his most difficult times over the past 4 years.
