

Michael (Mike) Paul Anthony Blouin, 67, of Calgary, Alberta, passed away suddenly at home, on January 12, 2025. He was born in Victoria, BC, January 29, 1957 to Raymond and Marie (nee Dore). Mike spent the first years of his life in Sooke, BC and the family later settled in the Westsyde area of Kamloops.
Mike moved to Calgary in 1976, where he got his plumbing and pipefitting ticket from SAIT. In 1981, Mike married the love of his life, Teresa. Together, they raised their beloved children, Jason and Michelle. Despite retiring in 2020, Mike continued to keep busy everyday working in the yard or garage, or spending time with his dog, Walter. Mike loved the outdoors and fishing was his lifelong passion. He spent his childhood fishing in the North Thompson River and the many lakes and streams around Kamloops. After moving to Alberta, Mike embraced the Bow River, Ghost Lake, and the numerous lakes and streams in southern and central Alberta, spending many hours in his boat, along the shore, or on the ice. Mike passed on his love of hunting, fishing, and camping to his children. Mike was proud of his children and his love of the outdoors has given them memories that will provide comfort. Mike will forever be remembered for his generosity, quick wit, hard work, storytelling, and his ability to keep everyone laughing with his jokes.
Mike is survived by his wife, Teresa; his children and their spouses, Jason & Kristi Blouin, and Michelle & Jeff Leschert; his granddaughter, Keogan, his grandsons, Sawyer and Kace. He is also survived by his sister, Nanette Jackson; brother and sister-in-law Gerald & Marilyn Blouin; sister Suzanne Blouin, sister and brother-in-law Lorraine Chambers & Gerry Dainsby, sister-in-law Roswitha Blouin, sister-in-law Perla Blouin, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ernest and Roland and brothers-in-law Fred Jackson and Don Chambers.
A Celebration of Mike’s life will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL (3220 4th Street NW, Calgary AB on Monday, January 20th at 2:00PM.
