Mildred Laura Johnson

30 junio, 1930 – 27 diciembre, 2025
EN EL CUIDADO DE

South Calgary Funeral Centre and Crematorium

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Mildred Johnson, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025 at the age of 95. Mildred was born on June 30, 1930, to Henry and Veronica Buechler in Denzil Saskatchewan. The sixth of eight children, she grew up in the loving chaos of a big family with her six brothers - Linus, Theodore, Henry, Cletus, Norbert and Neil - and her older sister Dorthy.

After completing High School, Mildred departed to Saskatoon to complete Dominion - Provincial Canadian Vocational Training to become a stenographer. She later moved to Edmonton to continue her career where she met the love of her life, Cecil Johnson. Mildred and Cecil were married for 54 years and had two children - Lynn (Craig) and Kevin (Sandee). Cecil predeceased Mildred in 2007.

Mildred was a proud mother and grandmother and her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She showed her love in a million ways over the years. Unconditional and total, her love was always intertwined in the fabric of our life. Mom never sought thanks, never doubted or wavered in her vocation to be the best mom. The gift of her love and her faith shaped us into the people we are today.

Mildred deeply loved her grandchildren, Colin, Allison, Amanda and Annaka. Cheering them on from the sidelines, she was immensely proud of their achievements and the amazing people they have become. They were always in her prayers and her heart.

It is hard to describe mom, because so much was under the surface. She was reserved and certainly stoic, but definitely feisty. Mom took comfort in her faith and stayed constant in her devotion. She fought the good fight and is now in the arms of our Heavenly Father. She will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, her brother Norbert, and many nieces and nephews who affectionately refer to her as Aunt Millie.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
