Patricia Anne Kesslering

Patricia “Pat” Kesslering of Calgary, Alberta, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the age of 71 years old surrounded by her family. Born on October 15, 1953, in Regina, SK, she was the eldest of four children and grew up with a fierce independence, which she would later pass on to all of her daughters.

Pat worked as a Registered Nurse for 38 years, she started out as a Diploma Nurse, but showed perseverance and resilience when she went back to university to get her Bachelor of Nursing degree at 50 years old. She had a diverse working career in Burns and Plastics, Neurology and the Stroke Prevention Clinic. She touched the lives of countless people with her warm, supportive nature, patience and kindness. She was an inspiration to all that she met and always put others before herself. Pat’s favourite pastime was travelling to see the world – whether it was road trips with her husband or flying to a new destination. Her love for travelling lives on through her children.

Pat is survived by her husband of 47 years, Darrel; her children, Callie (Darin), Laura (Troy), Beth, and Michelle (Ryan); her two grandchildren, Emma and William; and her brother, Darrell (Shirley). She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, and many treasured friends. She was predeceased by her parents Marshall and Alice Wellman, sister, Janice Giovannetti and brother, Barry Wellman.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Royal Hotel Calgary, 2828 – 23 Street NE, Calgary, AB. A private family graveside service will be held in advance of the celebration of life. The family would like to thank the medical staff that have helped support her and her family over the last 7 years.
