Peter Wrexford Gilmour

Passed away suddenly at the Foothills Hospital, on Oct 3, 2016 at the age of 62 years.

Peter is loving remembered by his bride Kathy, and his children Nikki and Shane, grandchildren Brooklyn and Kylen, brothers and sisters Jim, Judy, Peggy, Pat, Mike, Becky, Paul and their families. Dolly, Murray, Karen and Lindon and family, and so many more too numerous to mention.

Pre deceased by his parents Joseph Wrexford and Donna Marilyn and his sister Jane.

Peter was born and raised in the Belleville, ON area. He started school in Rednersville and completed his primary school years there. The family moved to the 5th concession where he spent his teenage years. He attended BCI and Quinte Secondary schools where he was very active in the football program. He and his teammates won the COSSA championship, a very proud time in his life.

He came out west at the age of 17 and settled in Kerrobert, SK where he worked as a ranch hand and participated on the bull riding circuit. At age 22 he came to Calgary where he met and married the love of his life Kathy. They had 2 beautiful children followed by 2 “perfect” grandchildren. He was a hardworking man his entire life until numerous health challenges slowed him down. Despite everything, he maintained a positive, upbeat attitude. He continued to utilize his mastery of many talents to keep life interesting and entertaining for all around him.

Peter always liked to have a project and most recently was in the process of learning Spanish which he practiced on anyone who would listen. He spent many a day with Kathy looking for that bargain, or the next get rich quick scheme.

His greatest joys came from following his children’s achievements in swimming and BMX racing, and of course anything that those “perfect” grandchild were involved in.

Peter was a larger than life personality, loved by many and will be sadly missed.

There will be a celebration of Peter's life at 87 Brightoncrest Terrace SE on Tuesday, October 11th, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Everyone Welcome.
