On behalf of the Jugdev family, we were so sorry to hear about Richard's passing.  Our heartful thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Richard was very special to me. He was the voice of reason, the wise counsellor and the most valued companion in my journey at River Valley School. A wink, a smile, words of encouragement were his daily offerings and I was blessed continually. Richard saw each of us as equal...just human beings stumbling through this world and trying to make sense of it. Thank you for the numerous life lessons, dear Richard. I will cherish every one of them. Sending love to the family. It was an honour to encounter this exceptional man.

I worked with Richard at River Valley School and spent many hours sitting with him in his office/ shop discussing the world’s problems and listening to him tell stories.

I am a former coworker of Richard’s at River Valley School. I’d like to pass along my sincere condolences to his family and friends. Richard was a fantastic person and a steadfast colleague: always up for a chat, willing to help out, and making connections with the kids at our school. My son Ben remembers Richard fondly from his years at River Valley School.  

You will be so missed, Mr. Richard. What a difference you made in the lives of everyone around you.

I had the wonderful opportunity of getting to know Richard over the past several years, through working at River Valley School. He was always so caring, genuine, funny, selfless, extremely hard-working and just the loveliest man. He spoke lots about his family, especially his grandchildren and would show me pictures and share stories about them; you could tell just how much he loved his family. I often called him Mr. Sunshine because he truly was just that - a ray of light. Our school community will not be the same without him. Sending so much love to your family during this heartbreaking time.
