Rick was born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta and later moved to Calgary where he met Donna. They were married for 55 years. Rick retired from the City of Calgary in 2001.
He is survived by his wife Donna; two sons, Russell (Yvonne) and Stephen; as well as six sisters and one brother, Sharon (Dennis) McLaren, of Calgary, Linda (Art) Stevenson of Camrose, Pat Coutts of Lethbridge, Diane Lanz of Lethbridge, Randy Coutts of Lethbridge, Wendy (Court) Henry of Lethbridge, Laurie (Bob) Lanz of Calgary; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents Steve and Evelyn Coutts.
Rick liked to go up to the mountains camping, hiking and fishing. He also liked to play card games on his computer.
As per Rick’s request, cremation is in care of Foster’s Garden Chapel.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Royal Canadian Legion, Chapelhow Branch No. 284, 606 38 Ave NE, Calgary, AB T2E 8J9 on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.
