Rita Boyle

Rita is survived by her husband, son, daughter and four grandchildren.

Rita was born in Dublin, Ireland to Patrick and Kathleen Cashin in 1956. Rita was the youngest of five siblings, Jim, Frank, Patrick and Mary, and grew up in a suburb of Dublin. She met Kevin Boyle and married him in 1981. Rita and Kevin embarked on a new adventure and immigrated to Canada the day after the wedding ceremony. Rita and Kevin loved to travel together, even living abroad in Ireland, Libya and Spain. However, throughout all their travels Rita always considered Calgary home. In between travels, Rita completed a degree in psychology at the University of Calgary while raising two children.

We wish to thank all our family and friends for their support during Rita’s illness. All of the visits, phone calls, text messages, flowers, meals, and baked goods were heartwarming and lifted Rita’s spirits. We would also like to express our deep appreciation to all the doctors, nurses and support staff at the Rosedale Hospice and Alberta Health Services, including MAID. The empathy and kindness of the medical professionals who provided treatment made a difficult journey tolerable.
