Rita Margaret Brown passed away peacefully in Edmonton, Alberta on November 25, 2025 at the age of 103. She was born Christmas morning at the family farm near Vulcan, Alberta to Percy and Peg Baldwin. She grew up on the farm during the Depression then moved to Calgary where she took a secretarial course before working at the Royal Bank.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Leslie (Roy) Clissold, her son Cameron Brown, her grandsons Paul Clissold, Neil (Abby) Clissold, Graham Brown, Aaron (Amber) Brown, Glen Clissold and Sean Brown and her great granddaughter Elizabeth Clissold.
Rita was predeceased by her husband Emerson Brown, her brother Edwin Baldwin, her sister Marian Allon, and her daughter-in-law Joanne Brown.She will be laid to rest next to Emerson (who has been waiting 40 years for her) following a family graveside service at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Rita’s name will be gratefully accepted by the Parkinson’s Association of Alberta.
