Robert Allan Rasmussen

It is with profound sadness that the family of Allan Rasmussen announces his sudden passing on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. Allan was born on September 17, 1936 in Calgary, the son of Danish immigrants Bob and Helga. He called Calgary home for 84 years.

Allan is survived by his loving wife Kay of 64 years, three surviving children and their spouses, Susan (Chris), Calgary, Sandra (Gerry), Calgary, and Dianne (Tom), Calgary, and by his daughter-in-law, Leila, Port Moody, B.C. Allan was predeceased by his son Gordon in 2018. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Matthew, Michelle, Breanna, Sarah, Katherine, Graham and Evan all of whom held a special place in his heart.

Allan graduated as a Certified General Accountant in 1972 with the help and total support of his wife Kay and their children. He worked for Canadian Gulf Oil, which later became British American Oil for 12 years and for the next 26 years worked with Union Oil Company of Canada finishing his career as Manager of Accounting. While employed in the oil industry, he was member of the Petroleum Accountants Society of Western Canada and served on several committees and as a board member. After taking early retirement he worked for 12 years as special projects accountant for several companies owned by Robert E. Kulhawy. Allan served on the board of Discovery Woods Condo Corporation as Treasurer, Vice President and President. He was also a member of the Danish Canadian Club, and for 15 years the Sundre Golf Club.

At Allan’s request, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire please make a contribution to a charity of their choice.
