Ronald John Luft of Calgary passed away peacefully on Friday, November 5, 2010 at the age of 79 years. He is survived by his son Timothy of Calgary; sister Elsie Holdsworth of Calgary; sisters-in-law Katherine (Richard) James of Calgary and Mary Baxter of Claresholm; close family friends David Lastockin and Dean Fedechko; as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by his wife Alvina in 1996 and his son Gregory in 2004. A Celebration of Ron’s Life was held at Foster's Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. with the Reverend Arnold Alksne officiating. Burial of the urn followed at Queen’s Park Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, #200 , 325 Manning Road N.E., Calgary, Alberta T2E 2P5.
