Sandra was born on March 23, 1942 in Toronto, Ontario and grew up in Canora, Saskatchewan. In 1961 Sandra met and married the love of her life, Ronald Roy Coates. After their marriage Sandra and Ron moved to Brandon, Manitoba where they welcomed their two daughters. In 1965 after the birth of their second child, Sandra and Ron relocated to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where Ron was employed with the Canadian Pacific Railroad and Sandra secured employment in retail. After leaving the railroad in 1975 the family moved to Yorkton, Saskatchewan where Sandra could be closer to her family. Sandra continued to work and in 1986 they relocated to Regina, Saskatchewan for Sandra’s employment with the Government of Saskatchewan.
