It is with much sadness and much love that we say goodbye to our beloved Mom and Oma Selma Beierle who went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 27, 2019 at the age of 91 years. She was born in Kurgany Kres Kostopol, Poland on October 14, 1927, the second oldest of 7 children. She was thankful to God for seeing her family safely through the war. They immigrated to Canada in 1948, settling in rural Alberta, close to Edmonton. She worked as a short order cook in a restaurant where she met Ed Beierle, whom she married in 1951. Eventually they made a home in Calgary and raised 4 children. Selma was always a hard working person. At times working part time but mainly was at home caring for her family and household. She was a compassionate person, a great listener and very caring. She was passionate about her relationships with God, family and friends. She was a talented cook and loved to bless everyone she knew with delicious meals and baking. She also enjoyed crocheting, tending her beautiful flower beds, traveling, playing games and camping with family, friends, grandkids and other relatives. She is survived by her sister Adina, brother Adolf, son Harvey, daughter Rita (Ernie), son Ron (Nina), grandchildren Jason, Kendra (Dan), Jessica, Joshua (Asha), Zachary, Tobias and great-grandchildren Mercedes, Bentley, Dominik, and Hunter and relatives and dear friends in Canada and Germany. She was pre-deceased by her parents Theodore and Matilda, brothers Gus, Robert, Eric her sister Tabea, husband Ed, her daughter Christa and granddaughter Jennifer. She will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed.
