We are so profoundly sorry for your loss.  I know Grace meant the world to you.

As I get older, I realize how precious life is and how rare it is to find friends and people that have a deep and meaningful impact on you and Grace was one of those unique individuals.  I miss her spunk and personality and all the verbal jabs we used to throw at each other ever time we got together, I miss all the wonderful meals we shared together with each other's families, and I miss her free dental advice she gave to us.

I remember one particular funny story when the kids were all eating ice creams cones and Spencer happened to drop his ice cream but he caught it in his hand-the glare from Grace was priceless.

We remember Grace from her very early days of her practice when we lived in Calgary - she always had a smile and was so full of energy and enthusiasm . Grace, loving, playful, goofy, smart, determined, coordinated, organized, beautiful, elegant, best friend. She made my life brighter. She was always so level headed, supportive, fun and funny. I’ve been rereading her letters and reliving our youth. I feel  blessed and privileged to have had her in my life. I feel I’ve lost a part of me and my heart goes out to you Jamie, Spenser, Macks and Emily. She lives on in our shared memories and in our love for her.

Jamie and family, I am so very sorry to hear about your unbearable loss. I still can’t wrap my mind around Grace leaving us. It was like a punch in the stomach to all of us at Tower Dental. Aside from her infectious laugh and her upbeat cheerful personality there is another characteristic that I have always admired in Grace and I want to share with you, although I know you won’t be surprised, it’s nice to be reminded. I remember when she first started working at Tower Dental and I was working in an operatory right next to hers and I could very clearly hear all of her conversations with her patients. Now, I’ve been told that I’m a decent dentist and I have a pretty good chair side manner but I distinctly remember thinking “Wow! She’s good! She communicates  with her patients so clearly and with such earnestness, patience and authenticity! What a great dentist! I wish I could be like that” That really stuck with me and I often thought about it over the years as I tried to emulate her. Grace was an amazing dentist and an amazing human being. She definitely made a difference and she will always be with us, those who knew and loved her at Tower Dental! 

Our dear friend Grace…. Words cannot express our sorrow to hear of your passing. You have enriched our lives with your love, kindness and generosity. We will always cherish the endless fun times and laughter we shared during our travels and get togethers. We were lucky to have Grace as a friend. Your beautiful spirit will be forever in our hearts. I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Grace was such a lovely person and I have fond memories of working with her at Sunridge Dental Clinic. She was always so positive,with laughter and a smile to greet you. I can still hear her greeting me with Good morning Sheila-la. Although we lost touch over the years I have often thought of those good days working and sometimes playing together.

We met Jamie by chance, actually at the A&W at Red Deer.   I tried to feed him chicken nuggets but later found out, it was his least favorite food.  We got to know Grace and their kids and enjoyed many wonderful dinners, social and business gatherings.  Over 20 years our families grew up together.  Grace was like the sister I never had.  It was easy to love her positive spirit, laughter, generosity and intelligence.   I can’t say that I ever remember seeing her without a smile.   We admired her loyalty and devotion to the people and things that truly mattered.  We are so proud to have witness her investment in her children.  Emily, Spencer and Macks are exemplary people today, ready to embrace a shining future because of their wonderful parents.  Their life and achievements will no doubt be part of the Grace’s legacy and we excited to watch and support the journey ahead.  Although we are extremely saddened, we are grateful for the genuine friendships and the fullness of life we experienced together.

So sad to hear of Grace's passing.  I will always remember her cheerful attitude and smile.  She was always laughing and joking with the patients at the dental office, and was very personable.   Having seen many of her patients when she retired, I can say she was a very talented and ethical dentist. She was a great mom.    My condolences to her family and extended family. Our hearts were broken when we heard the news about your wife/moms passing. There is no words for the sorrow we feel for all of you but know that if you need us we are here. I always looked forward to catching up with your mom at the get togethers at my brother’s house. From her stories to the sound of her laugh she would bring so much warmth to the house. She has touched many hearts and will be fondly remembered by all of us.

It was a sad day on June 15 when I lost my dearest friend of 47 years.  Grace was a bright star amongst us.  A kind soul and a true friend in all aspects of life.  I will miss her dearly. Grace, or Auntie Grace as I called her, was so kind and warm-hearted with a great sense of humor. I always felt like she cared and was genuinely interested in how I was doing. Grace, you left us much too soon.  The memories of times spent at our dinners and gatherings will be forever lasting.  I remember at our potlucks, Grace would say to me each time, " Have you lost weight?"  Grace always said this to build my already big ego whether I did or didn't truly lose weight.  But this is Grace, being a true friend to make people feel good about themselves all the time.  I will miss hearing her saying this in future gathers but I will forever cherish the happy, laughing and wonderful times when Grace was in our lives.  Rest in peace dear friend.  

While nothing can fill the hole created by the loss of Grace, know that she will remain in our memory with all the joy, love, and laughter that was a part of her. I will always remember Grace,  but My nickname for her was Gracious.  I have a lot of good memories of working  at Sunridge Dental clinic, back in the 80’s.  you new when she was around because of her laugh.   
She was a very caring dentist & enjoyed people.

Jamie, Spencer, Mackenzie and Emily.  I was heartbroken when I ran into  at your front gate the Saturday after Grace's passing.  She is and will always be dear to me.  From when we met in dental school, when we went to China with your family and the stories and memories I have of her.  Like the story of 4th Street Rose and me eating the  pecan pie I shared with you that day. Mom, you always said I was the unluckiest, anything that could go wrong always ends up happening to me. Yet I've realized in the end I was one of the luckiest people in the world because I got to have you as my mom. You were compassionate, understanding, fair and most of all, loving. You were always looking out for me . When I ignored your advice and got hurt you were still there to comfort me. No matter what you loved me, and I I love you mom. you will always be in my memory and my heart. Thank you for everything.
