Sophia was born on August 24, 1930, in the mountain village of Vouroura, Kinourias, Greece to Costantinos and Anna Kokokiou. She came to Calgary in 1959 and married Lambros Vassis (Vassiliadis). Sophia loved cooking and baking and sharing those two things with family and friends. She was a caring mother and grandmother. She loved attending theatre and music events or watching them on TV.
Sophia will be dearly missed by her daughter Irene (Neil) Dobson and children Lyndon, Cassandra and Ashley; son Ken Vassis; and daughters Hailey and Melina. Sophia will also be missed by all who knew her. Sophia was predeceased by her husband Lambros (Harry), her brothers Panayoti, Demetri and Stavros, and her sisters Ioanna, Vasiliki and Areti.
A Memorial Service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, (14640 6 St SW), on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
