Born in Enping, Guangdong, China in 1931. Stanley came to Canada in 1952. He attended school in Enchant for 6 months, then in Calgary for 2 years. He entered SAIT's electricians apprentice program, getting his papers in 1959. After working as an electrician, he went into the grocery store business in 1964 and continued until his retirement in 1992. He married Gwen Wong from China in 1959, and had two daughters, Melissa and Jeanette. Along with Gwen, he moved to Ottawa in 2018 and resided there until his death.
Stanley is lovingly remembered by his wife Gwen, his daughters Melissa (Scott), and Jeanette (Stan), and his five grandchildren Simon, Matthew, Allison, Giuseppe and Natalie. He will also be sadly missed by his sisters and brothers Valerie, Linda, Barbara, Vincent and Grant (Katie), as well as other extended family and friends. Stanley was predeceased by his father Hong Long and his wife Annie Long.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Service held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
Interment will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
