

Susan Poupart passed away in Calgary, Alberta on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at the age of 75 years. Born in June, 1946 in Exeter, England to Gladys and Charles Pyle, Susan spent most of her formative years in Brighton, England.
Always a caring soul, Sue dedicated her life to helping others. She attended University in Croydon, London where she received her Social Work Diploma, and then went on to spend years working in Child Protective Services in London.
In 1972, Sue met her husband Chris - they went on to marry in 1973 on St. Patrick’s Day at Our Lady of Lourdes in Rottingdean, England; in October of the same year they immigrated to Canada where they finally settled in Calgary.
Over the years, after obtaining her Bachelors of Social Work from the University of Calgary, Sue continued her work in Alberta Child and Family Services - she joined in August 1978 and retired July 9, 2011.
Sue became a part of the Indigenous Children’s Services office when it opened in 1987, and she was a very strong advocate and voice for the children, families and culture that she was passionate about.
A loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother, Sue will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her husband, Christopher, their children and their families, as well as innumerable friends and co-workers.
Susan was predeceased by her father Charles (Cliff), mother Gladys, and brother John, as well as sisters-in-law Anne, Margaret, and Norma, and brothers-in-law Michael and Derry, and grandson Bradley.
A Prayer Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 7:00 pm.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Ascension Catholic Parish, 1100 Berkshire Blvd NW, Calgary, Alberta on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 11:30 am.
