It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sylvia Coptin, devoted mother to Colleen Bendiktsen; loving grandmother to Shane (Sabina) Bendiktsen and Reid Bendiktsen, and adoring great-grandmother to Elsa and Markus. She also leaves behind her sister, Adele and numerous nieces and nephews. Sylvia was predeceased by her husband, Alex and her four brothers. Born and raised in Opal, AB, Sylvia was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time in Yahk, at Chestermere Lake, and travelling with Johnny. Sylvia was an inspiration to us all and will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 10827 24 Street S.W. Calgary, AB on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, Suite 100 -119 14 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6.
