It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Violet Isabel Dane (nee Thomas) peacefully on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the age of 88 years. Violet is survived by her daughter Beverly (Ken); cherished grandmother of Zandra (Craig), Scott, Michael and Sheri (Jason); great grandmother of nine and great-great grandmother of Alex. She is pre-deceased by her loving husband Malcolm Dane and her daughter Charlotte Fisher. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered for her kind heart and quick sense of humour. Visitation will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made on Violet's behalf to the Calgary Humane Society, 4455 – 110 Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB T2C 2T7 or the Alzheimer's Society of Calgary, 201, 222-58 Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB T2H 2S3.
