Virginia Josephine Ziajka

Born in Coleman, Alberta, Gina was a kind, gentle, and loving friend to all who knew her. Her radiant smile and infectious laughter brought joy to many. She spent her career caring for others at Cedars Villa Care Home, where she was deeply respected and cherished by both colleagues and residents.

A devoted animal lover, Gina's beloved cat, Smokey, held a special place in her heart. Following Smokey's passing, Gina found comfort in collecting stuffed animals. Her fondness for Chinese food and chocolates was well-known, and she always had sweet treats ready to share with guests.

In her later years at Millrise Seniors Village, Gina found joy in nature, often spending time among the flowers, conversing with the magpies and enjoying visits from animals. She was blessed to have recently taken a memorable trip to Coleman, where she reminisced about her cherished childhood memories.

A lifelong member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, Gina drew immense strength and peace from her faith.

Gina was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Mary Ziajka; sisters, Annie and Helen; brothers, Joe and Ted; and nephew, Blaine Weber.

She is survived by nephew David Ziajka (wife Erma); niece Dawn Clark; nephew Tim Weber (wife Maria); niece Sharon Beda; sister in law Phyllis Ziajka, nieces Sheelah and Jenifer Ziajka and nephew Blair Christianson (wife Anita).

Great-nieces and great-nephews include Ashley Dyck (husband Andy); Vera Burnip (husband Brian); Chris Beda (wife Chelsea); Stacy Alexander (husband Jeff); and Elizabeth Potter (husband Justin);Tariq Alexander Ziajka; Adrian Weber; Caitlin Weber; Darrian Christenson; and Cassie Christenson

Great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews include Malakai Dyck; and Malia Dyck.

Abby Alexander, Charlie Alexander and Peyton Alexander. Ava Bedea and Cruz Bedea.

Gina will be dearly missed by her family and many supportive and loving friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 28th at 1:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1736-10 Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta.

Reception will follow the Memorial Service, from 2:30 to 4:30pm at South Calgary Funeral Centre, 12700 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary, Alberta.
