Wayne was known for his amazing sense of humor, his contagious laughter, endless stories, and numerous passions. He was a strong and proud man that as long as you put in an honest days’ work, would help anyone as often as he could. Wayne made friends with everyone anywhere he went which meant when he walked away he would always have a new fan. He was a loving son, father, papa, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and he was also a loyal friend to many. His family extended to including being a second father and papa to the many people that he brought into his life!
Anyone that knew Wayne knew that his proudest titles that he held was Dad and Papa! As he settled down to more of a home life after his busy careers of ranching and trucking rarely would he miss a family event, couldn’t wait to see the little ones run, and the glow that would shine from his eyes was unmistakably the most pride one man could radiate.
Wayne’s greatest passions have always included the rodeos, ranching, and of course we all know the auctions! He would attend every event that he could and would always find something amazing to bring home and show off! There was always a story or two that he would share that would have come from his day and it was always something that would split your side with laughter!
Wayne will be deeply missed by his siblings Donald (Bev), Brian, Blanche, and Yvonne (Lloyd), his daughters Lorrayne, Elayne (Terry), his sons, Dwayne, Shayne, Wayne, his extended daughters Stacey and Tammy, his 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, even more extended family, and many friends.
On the other side, with certainty, he had the warmest welcoming from his mother Rita Friesen, his father Henry Friesen, and his grandson Kylayne Leach.
Everything that Wayne accomplished in this world was nothing short of amazing. He would likely end this by saying, “I’ll kick your arse!”
A service will be held Sunday, September 18 at 1pm at South Calgary Funeral Centre.
