Wendy Leigh Handel

Wendy Handel is survived and lovingly remembered by her nieces; Sarah Bouthillette and Michelle Weichert, her nephew; Zachary Bouthillette, her siblings Ron Jones, Shirley Byland and Timmy Wakefield, her precious cat; Gemma, along with many friends and extended family that loved her dearly.

Wendy is predeceased by her husband; Rex Handel, her mother and father; Hilda and Edward Jones, step-mother; Joan Jones as well as her siblings; Carol Bouthillette, Cheryl Fiore, Dwayne Jones, and Bill Wakefield.

Wendy Handel grew up in William's Lake, British Columbia until relocating to Calgary, Alberta where she remained until her passing. Wendy took pride in helping others anyway she could, especially through the work she provided at Alberta Precision Laboratories as a supervisor.

After the passing of her sister Carol, Wendy stepped up and became the sole caregiver for Sarah and Zachary during their childhood. Wendy deeply loved and cared for Sarah, Zachary, and Michelle as if they were her own children.

In 2021, Wendy was diagnosed with breast cancer and courageously fought until her passing. Wendy's legacy will be forever cherished by the lives she touched.

Because Wendy loved angel numbers, a Celebration of Life will be held on January 11, 2026, beginning promptly at 1:11pm.
