I'll always remember Wendy as a complement to her family. She had a friendly personality and showed genuine interest to our conversations at the Barn dance or Pratch get togethers. She was always happy to sit and find what was common with our family and hers.  She'll be a missing piece to any Pratch family get togethers.

My memories of Wendy are full of fun, laughter, dancing and adventure.  Any time spent with Wendy was bound to be a good time. I met her in grade 10 and become great friends in grade 12. We camped together, joined the Edmonton Rowing club together, and danced like crazy at Club Malibu together. 

She will be so incredibly missed, she was truly someone who made my life brighter.

I'm heartbroken to share in the loss of Wendy, a bright light in our lives who touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her passing leaves a profound void, and I want to extend my sincerest condolences to all who loved her.

Wendy was a shining star, radiating energy, enthusiasm, and adventure wherever she went. Her love for her daughters, Hailey and Avery, was boundless, and they were the center of her world. She had a special gift for making everyone feel seen, heard, and loved.

I'll cherish the memories of our times together – like the run we went on in Barrhead, where you were always willing to participate and give it a go, no matter what the activity. Your adventurous spirit was infectious! And our wonderful family trip to Kelowna, where we spent sunny days boating, tubing, swimming, and cycling along the Kettle Valley railway, was truly special. Wendy, you inspired me to live life to the fullest and try new adventures even to this day. I'd break a leg for you – well, it was actually my foot and ankle! And after that mishap, taking garlic bread out to the BBQ will never be the same – but the memories of our time together will always bring a smile to my face.

Wendy, your family was everything to you, and it's clear how much you loved and cherished them. I know your bond with Aunt Judy was especially strong – as her first niece, you held a special place in her heart. Your love for your daughters, Hailey and Avery, was evident in everything you did, and I'm so grateful they had you as their mom.

As we say goodbye to this incredible woman, I take comfort in the memories we shared. Rest in peace, dear Wendy. Someday, I'll look forward to running alongside you again. Until then, know that you'll always be in my thoughts and prayers.

I had the pleasure of working with Wendy when we first opened Unit 58 at south Health Campus. She was bright, energized and kind. I will never forget her. My condolences to her family they travel through this heartache.

I had the pleasure of knowing Wendy through work.  She was always bubbly, full of energy and a hard worker.  She had a heart of gold and so proud to be a nurse and was a natural caregiver.  I loved all the stories about Hailey and Avery and their dance competitions.  I will miss you and send thoughts and prayers to the family and friends who knew her well.  May you rest in peace now

I met Wendy when I joined the Unit 58 Neuro team as Nurse Clinician at SHC she was the Educator !
She taught us well kept us informed 💕 She spoke highly of her family lit up actually every time she would speak of them !

The bench where Wendy and I met is a sacred place, where I have connected with some of the loveliest women I know, all of whom were going through some trial or tribulation. I'll never forget meeting Wendy — two complete strangers sharing a cry, a laugh, and a hug. For a couple months we shared secrets and sympathies; wondered and worried together. We shared many vulnerable moments, and found so much common ground despite so many differences... Eventually, our differences (or maybe it was our similarities) drove us apart, just before Christmas of last year.

We may not have been friends to the bitter end, but I never stopped wondering and worrying about you, Wendy. After you suddenly decided I wasn't a fit for you... That pain and confusion lead me to act unkind, even harsh, and to put up unnecessary boundaries. Not a day went by that I didn't think about you. I don't think there will be many days that go by from now on that you won't still cross my mind, even if I won't hear you upstairs anymore.. I regret that there won't be a second chance to be your friend. I regret that I robbed us of a more pleasant goodbye. This stings for so many reasons. I'm sorry, Wendy, and I wish I'd said that sooner.

To Wendy's daughters: I want you to know you were the first thing your mom talked about to anyone who would listen; I learned about what wonderful people you are before I learned a thing about your mom. I never met Avery, but I've heard so many loving stories about you and your sister – Hailey: I am so sorry I wasn't home when you knocked, more importantly, I am so sorry for your loss.. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming to let us know.. Our door is always open to you, please don't hesitate to buzz me if you or your family need anything at all.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Wendy’s passing. We had a great friendship that lasted many formative years from high school until early adulthood…timing and distance put us on different paths but I will always treasure her kind and loving nature, her compassionate and loyal heart and many beautiful memories and time spent together. My sincere heartfelt condolences to her daughters, her parents, her siblings and all those affected by this immense loss.

Hailey, Avery, and Geoff I want to extend my deepest condolences for your loss. Wendy was truly one of a kind  someone whose light could fill a room and whose laughter always made the day better.

To me, she was like a “work mom”  always looking out for us, always making sure we were smiling, and always offering warmth and humor, even on the toughest days. Wendy had a way of making everyone feel seen, included, and genuinely cared for. Whether it was the Christmas parties, graduations, or birthdays, she opened her home and heart to us without hesitation, and those moments are memories I’ll always carry with me.

Wendy’s energy, kindness, and beauty  both inside and out  made the world a better place, and I know she lives on in each of you. I hope you find comfort in knowing how deeply she was loved and how many lives she touched with her joy.

Wendy, so many memories of you still make me smile. Your kindness, your sense of humour, and especially your unwavering ability to be there when someone needed it most. You were always an amazing listener and at the same time knew what to say when that was needed.  All those handwritten notes in grade 10  😊; the most thoughtful friend!  You had such a generous spirit and a gift for making people feel special and  welcome.

Dearest Wendy, 

You welcomed me into your family instantly - a gal from Toronto dating a boy who was lucky enough to call your family his close friends. You were a mama with what to me at the time had it all (the kids, the house, the career, the beauty) and YOU WERE SO COOL! I think before that I thought once you have all of those things you get boring. Boy was I wrong, and you reminded me every-time we would get together or you would host a large gathering - it always felt like home, everyone had a hoot, and someone would walk away with a new friend. 

We would always come to your place, sip wine, play games, listen to music, dance with the girls, and come up with wild ideas. We’d have deep talks about adulting in your kitchen and side convos about cutting each others bangs in the bathroom. We’d chat about everything and nothing and always managed to leave our play dates with another one on the horizon. 

I was flipping through old photos from our wedding and in almost all of them you were on the dance floor, in the middle of the crowd, or one on one with my family members (still dancing), you were the life of any party without even trying. I chose this photo because of its angelic vibe.  The world won’t be the same without you earth side but quite a few people have gained a guardian angel and I can’t imagine anyone guarding more fiercely then you, my friend. Rest in paradise, I’ll miss you. 🤍

My deepest condolences to Wendy’s daughters, parents and whole family. Wendy and I grew close  when we would run together around St Albert sharing our mutual teenage and young adult problems. She was always there to listen patiently and provide comfort and advice. Although our lives diverged I was so glad to reconnect with her a few years ago. I will cherish the friendship we developed and will keep her family in my heart and prayers. Until we meet again. ❤️

I think it completely represents your can do spirit and your willingness to always help out wherever you could. Yes Boss!! I’ll be there. That’s exactly what you said. I’ll miss you. Our late night emails (before texting was a thing), the way you could cheer me up with a smile or just being there when I needed friend …. I will cherish every single moment.
