Zena Marie Andrade

Zena Marie Andrade passed away peacefully at the Extendicare Cedars Villa on March 1, 2018 at the age of 91 years. Zena is lovingly remembered by her husband of 68 years, William Andrade; her sons Terence Andrade (Deanna), Clarence Andrade, Lawrence Andrade, Christopher Andrade (Germaine); daughters Jennifer Noronha (Neil), Nilofer Fernandes (Ralph), Zenwill Sequeira (Anselm); grandchildren Tania, Holly (Ivan), Leann (Jared), Tamara, Sophia (Joel), Natasha (Sameer), Ryan, Warren, Brad, Marisa (Rick), Megan, and Ashley; great grandchildren Mariah, Kassiah, Isaiah and Benjamin. Zena is also survived by her sisters Lucy Dias from Australia, Sybil Sequeira from Denver, Cloty D’Souza from India, and her brother Fr. Joe Prabhu from India. She was predeceased by her parents Maurice and Katherine D’Souza, her sister Jane Aranha, and her brother Fr. Claude D’Souza.

Zena was born on June 27, 1926 in Bombay, India. She acquired a Bachelor of Education degree and also a Masters of Arts degree. Zena married William on January 29, 1950, and moved to Karachi, Pakistan where she taught for 32 years before immigrating to Canada in 1982. She babysat for many years and she enjoyed knitting sweaters for all her children and grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., and a Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at St. Thomas More Church (15 Templebow Road N.E. Calgary) with Fr. John Pinto, and Zena’s nephew Fr. Eustace Sequeira officiating.

Interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery (3219 4th Street N.W. Calgary).
