Catherine Elaine McMullen

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Catherine “Cathie” Elaine McMullen. Cathie passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2026, just a few days after her 83rd birthday. Cathie is survived by her daughters Robyn and Kari (Rob), and her brother John (Cathy). She was the widow of the late Bob McMullen.

Cathie was known around the neighbourhood for her friendliness, having made many new friends while engaging in conversations sitting on the front porch of her beloved home of over 50 years. Her talents and interests drew her to a career as a Family Studies teacher. Once retired, she and Bob cruised the world until his passing in 2013. In later years, she joined the Knit Pickers at the Allen Reuter Centre in Preston and knit baby hats for the hospital.

Cathie was a caring wife, mother, and friend who will be sadly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lisaard House (www.lisaardhouse.com), who meant a great deal to Cathie when they cared for Bob at the end of his battle with cancer.
