Charles Edwin Groh

With great sadness and sorrow, the family announce his passing on Monday, December 1, 2014 at home in Paris, Ontario in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Agnes Groh (nee McIlvenny for 60 years. Dear father of Randy (Isobel), Rick (Jo-Anne), Brian (Karen) and Kevin (Kim). Cherished Grandpa to Ryan (Vickie), Derek, Kelsey (Steven Curliss), Patrick, Sarah, David (Lisa), Jennifer and Tyler. Proud great-grandfather of Ryan, Heidi and Autumn. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Charlie was predeceased by his parents Edwin and Silva Groh, his brothers Wilfred “Ted” (Rita) and Eldon (Jean) and his sister Edna. Chuck spent his life in the automotive industry but his passion was music. He made many lifelong friends while playing and enjoying country and gospel music with a number of bands over the years. He lived for his family.

Relatives and friends will be received on Friday, December 5th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge (519-653-3251). The Funeral Service to celebrate his life will be held at Trillium United Church, 450 King Street, Cambridge on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Parklawn Cemetery. If desired, donations to Parkinson Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
