Dear brother of Marilynn Franks (John), Rosemary Holzendorff (Gary predeceased), Carol Jongerius (John predeceased), Colleen Sinclair (Warren), Patrick Mannion (Katherine), Kathy Staubitz (Bill). Chris was also preceded in death by his parents Francis & Dorothy Mannion, his in-laws Michael & Helen Onorato and by his nephew Michael Jongerius.
Fondly remembered by numerous nieces & nephews & their families. Chris was well known in the Cambridge area as a former employee / owner of Mannion's Quality Furniture, from his teen years until its closure in 2006. Chris loved the outdoors, and was an avid sportsman, who excelled in numerous sporting activities, namely golf, downhill & cross-country skiing, touch football, snowmobiling, paddle boarding, badminton, table tennis & cycling. He also played hockey for many years, but eventually got the pickleball urge, and excelled at that, as well. Chris was a senior member of the Galt Country Club, & gained many lasting friendships through that association. He was also a long-time, dedicated Leaf's fan, and rarely missed watching a game. Chris had a great sense of humour, and loved spending time with his family & friends, and will be greatly missed by all those with whom he came in contact.
The Mannion Family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Thursday, June 12th from 2:00 until 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Clement's Parish, 745 Duke Street on Friday, June 13th at 10:30 am which will be livestreamed. Cremation has taken place.
