

Of Cambridge, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Trinity Village Care Centre, Kitchener, in her 97th year. Loving wife of the late Francis Mannion (1997). Dear mother of Marilynn (John) Franks, Rosemary (Gary) Holzendorff, Carol (John) Jongerius, Colleen (Warren) Sinclair, Patrick (Katherine) Mannion, Christopher (Kim) Mannion, and Kathleen (Bill) Staubitz. Dorothy is survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Minnie Bauer; her sister and brother-in-law Edna and Jack Rennie; her sister and brother-in-law Olga and Phil Boegel; and a grandson Michael Jongerius. Dorothy was a 40-year member of St. Clement’s Church Adult Choir, and a past member of St. Clement’s Resurrection Choir. She was also a former member of St. Clement’s Catholic Women’s League, the Probus Club of Cambridge, the Galt Country Club, the Kinettes, and I.O.D.E. Dorothy was very grateful for the many dear friends and acquaintances that have filled her life to the fullest. Dorothy had been a resident of Trinity Village Care Centre for only 6 months, and her family is truly grateful for the superb care she received there. Prior to Trinity Villiage Care Centre, Dorothy had 16 great years at Queen Square Terrace in Cambridge. At Dorothy’s request, there will be no funeral home visitation. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at St. Clement’s Church (745 Duke St. Cambridge, ON) at 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life will follow in the church hall at noon. As expressions of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cambridge Memorial Hospital, The Bridges in Cambridge, Trinity Community Table in Cambridge, or a charity of your choice.
